The ZEN shelving unit is a geometric utility object with a sculptural character. Its form originates from a simple rectangular block, which has been divided and sculpted through rhythmic partitions. The result is a dynamic, spatial composition that balances function and form.
The central premise of the design is rotation—the piece was designed as a rotatable volume that changes its character depending on its orientation. In a vertical position, it functions as a shelf; when placed on its side, it transforms into a bench or seating, maintaining its distinct architectural identity.
The inspiration behind its creation was the need for a collectible piece of furniture dedicated to storing vinyl records. While its proportions and divisions were precisely tailored to that format, ZEN also functions successfully as a bookshelf or a display for other everyday objects.

We use first-class wood and powder-coated steel (with certified, top-quality paints) and personally check every detail before shipping – in 99% of cases, this is done by Alicja, the founder of SALAK studio.
We offer a 2-year warranty, but we know our furniture will stay with you for many years.
